Architecture students co-designing shelters with cultural Knowledge Holders is a direct capacity-building exercise, supporting SDG 4.
The resulting public shelters in the Newcastle CBD, shaped by cultural knowledge, contribute to inclusive and culturally grounded public space under SDG 11 target 11.7.
This project was delivered together with the School of Architecture at the University of Newcastle. Groups of students co-designed shelters together with cultural knowledge holders for a garden in the Newcastle CDB. This capacity building opportunity for architecture students allowed them to learn about Designing with Country on a live project.
